Peggy was employed by the Harris County Clerk’s office for 30 years. Her career began in the real property department and worked up to assistant supervisor and department head before gaining an appointment by long time County Clerk Anita Rodeheaver to Assistant Chief Deputy/Administrator of Records.  She managed four large downtown divisions in addition to 9 branch office locations where services were expanded to include online state birth records and instituted a program to capture information at the “point of sale” with regard to marriage license applications and assumed names.

Peggy was appointed to the Harris County Federal Credit Union’s credit committee in the mid 80’s and elected as chairman in 1992.  Peggy was appointed to the Board of Directors in the mid 90’s and has been continuously re-elected and now serves as Treasurer of a credit union that has grown to over 75 million in deposits..

Peggy has been active in an international organization that serves Election Officials, County Clerks, Recorders of Deeds and County Treasurers since 1986.  In 1993, she took over as Trade Show Director and has doubled the amount of exhibitors since that time. Peggy has served on the Executive committee and the Board of Directors since that time making many changes to the format of the annual trade show.

Peggy retired from Harris County and public service in January of 2000.  She began a second career as a Realtor in March of that year with Dawn Shumway & Associates, a small Heights neighborhood real estate broker.

She was Ways and Means Chair of “Swinging in the Heights” street dance honoring the Centennial of the Woodland Heights and is co-chairing the annual Woodland Heights home tour in March of 2009.

Peggy has joined Semmler Pollard Properties where she continues to serve the Heights and surrounding neighborhoods.  As a 50+ year resident of the Norhill and Woodland Heights subdivisions, she has seen the area transform and develop into what it is today. Peggy is proud that the neighborhood still retains its small town neighborly friendly atmosphere!
